This position requires a hands-on approach and an individual who participates in all warehouse functions, while directing the non-exempt employees. This position will ensure a safe working environment and follow all Human Resource Policies as well as the company's internal Quality, Security, Environmental Health and Safety Guidelines along with all Federal, State and Local regulations. This position, along with the Distribution Center Manager, will oversee and participate in supervising the non-exempt employees adherence to both the company's Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) as well as Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Compliance. This position will assist The Distribution Center Manager in instilling and driving a positive company culture and constantly review work processes to gain efficiencies and reduce operating cost. Participation in special projects, as needed, at the direction of the Distribution Center Manager.Job Duties
Direct employees and assist in accurately fulfilling, packing, verifying and recording the necessary data for all orders and requests
Direct and delegate the daily, weekly and monthly workload on the Distribution Center Floor
Accurately record routing and carrier charges for all shipments
Lead and assist non-exempt employees in time management and distribution efficiencies
Responsible for assisting with accurate and up-to-date information (SAP and physical inventory up to and including cycle counts and physical inventories).
Serve as a lead on the floor and assist in assuring a safe working environment
Lead, participate and assure an adherence to standard operating procedure and department operating procedures
Lead and require non-exempt employees to show good housekeeping of work area and equipment used in the fulfillment process
Attend & participate in all training sessions, safety and/or GMP
Assist in evaluation of non-exempt employees with Distribution Center Manager
Maintain a high level of communication with management and non-exempt associates
Plan, coordinate, supervise and assist in the daily, weekly and monthly activities of the distribution center non-exempt employees.
Participate in all SOP, SOX and GMP training, and ensure staff compliance with regulations.
Provide in-house internal operations for systems support for non-exempt employees.
Meet all unplanned and unscheduled demands for the distribution center's and the company's objectives and goals.
Assist The Distribution Center Manager in all facility security, maintenance, upkeep and modifications.
Combine technical skills and interpersonal relationships to motivate and lead warehouse employees on the floor.
Lead Distribution Center Cross Training Program as designed by The Distribution Center Manager to ensure employee and company efficiencies
Support and maintain team-building initiatives and sanofi-aventis cultureThis position has approximately 12 -15 direct reports
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experienceExperience:
5 years or more Supervision in a distribution or warehousing environment a plus
5 plus years experience in operating material handling equipment a plus
Prior personal computer, data entry or systems experience a plus. SAP experience preferred.
Experience with pharmacological and/or related, relative or other controlled substances preferred.
Experience with Import/Export is a plus.Professional Skills:
