Warehouse Operations Manager
Job Summary
The Operations Manager is assigned to a specific warehouse/operations location and is primarily responsible for managing and achieving department goals, which are then given to subordinate supervisors and leads.
* Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Manages day-to-day operations of the department
Including, but not limited to:
Facility management
Supply requisition
Employee hiring, firing, training and record-keeping
Preparing, writing and conducting employee performance reviews and recommending appropriate merit increases
Participating in developing, modifying and executing company policies and procedures
Shipping
Receiving
Inventory Control
* Manages various business goals including, but not limited to:
Labor Rate Goal as a percentage of sales
Productivity Goals
Receiving and Put-away Specification Goals
High Velocity Bins Replenishment
Shipping Specification Goals
Shipping Accuracy (Shipping errors)
Inventory Accuracy (Ghost Inventory, Cycle adjustments, etc.)
Safety and department security
* Principal Challenges and Accountabilities
Goals and performance are reviewed by senior management to measure the performance and success of the operation.
Resource and budget planning
Labor, materials and overhead cost control (i.e. traces losses, solves discrepancy problems, meeting daily shipping schedule, assures inventory control)
•Schedules and On-time performance (i.e. meeting daily shipping schedule, maintains high level of “on-time delivery” performance
Decisions and Judgment
•Required to make informed decisions that affect department operations resulting in negative or positive impact to the company, vendors and customers.
•Resource and budget planning
•Manages labor, materials and overhead cost control (i.e. traces losses, solves discrepancy problems, meeting daily shipping schedule, assures inventory control)
•Manages schedules and On-time performance (i.e. meeting daily shipping schedule, maintains high level of “on-time delivery” performance
•Prepares management reports
Internal/External Interfaces
•Interacts with senior management or executives regarding functional and customer issues.
•Communicates with product managers, technical support group, transportation carriers, customers and suppliers.

REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 5-7 years of related operations/warehouse experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience which a minimum of 3 years of supervisory/management experience
Demonstrated proficiency with shipping, receiving and inventory control processes and procedures
Demonstrated business communications skills, both verbal and written
Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Word and Excel) and Visio
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
Organizational and planning skills
Demonstrated project management skills
Ability to work in a dynamic, team-oriented work environment
Ability to travel within assigned regions (up to 30-40% of the time)
Maintains an up-to-date driving license and a clean driving record
Job Requirements Preferred
High tech distribution/warehouse experience
Bilingual language skills (i.e. Spanish)
