Transportation Analyst

•Responsible for coordinating and scheduling outbound traffic with the objective of maximizing consolidation levels while meeting prescribed service standards. Also requires the managing of carrier activity domestically and internationally.
•Major responsibilities will include the load planning for outbound LTL and international orders. Assist with domestic TL load planning as required.
•Schedule and route outbound traffic. Maximize consolidation levels in to service area and monitor freight costs. Build pool shipments, consolidated LTL shipments, and stop-off truckloads to leverage freight savings. Ensure all orders are appointed.
•Monitor delivery exceptions from the carriers and report information back to each principal and/or Customer Service Representative.
•Provide customer support to principals, as needed. Investigate and resolve all customer service issues and exceptions. Ensure the accurate and timely preparation processing and distribution of all required customer reports.
•Manage the carrier network for the specific traffic region. Ensure that carrier service is consistent with predetermination standards. Ensure that carrier is in full compliance with pallet and claim policies, in addition to EDI communications.
•Assist and support with development and completion of transportation and traffic project activity as required. Projects include transportation service analysis and consolidation studies.
•Perform other duties as assigned by management
•Effectively communicate with associates and customers in person and via telephone, verbally and non-verbally to accomplish necessary objectives
•Ability to operate small office equipment (typewriters, computers, keypunch, etc.) to accomplish necessary objectives
•Ability to retrieve and file documents stored in file cabinets
•Ability to learn technical material to accomplish necessary objectives
REQUIREMENTS
•Education:Preferred: college degree
•Experience:With college degree: none necessary; without college degree: 1-3 years
•Other:Experience in motor transportation operations. Requires strong communication and organizational skills. Must be customer service oriented.
