Our customers can buy approximately 10,000 articles at IKEA. Every day, several thousand of each of article are sold, delivered and sold again. As a result, to handle this type of volume, logistics are a very important element at IKEA. It is the Warehousing Co-worker's responsibility to continuously optimize the service level and to increase customer satisfaction. Our co-workers in the warehouse accept the goods, check, stock and commission them. They know the warehouse inside out and provide our customers, when they arrive at goods handout, with the right articles.Your Responsibilities:
Fill customer orders by correctly identifying merchandise locations and utilizing proper loading methods
Successfully complete material handling equipment certification training
Adhere to safety and security procedures including accurate and safe overstock
Monitor pick bins to ensure proper replenishment and dimensioning in relation to sell through
Keep damaged merchandise to a minimum and follow inventory control procedures
Maintain a clean, organized work area following waste management guidelines
Follow proper procedures for returns confirmation
Demonstrate article location and information knowledge
Use available resources to educate yourself on Efficient Goods Flow Concept
Contribute to an environment where the IKEA Culture is a strong and living reality that embraces the diversity of coworkers and customers
Assume responsibility for other tasks and projects as they occur
REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge:
Experience in commission work.
Forklift driving license preferred.
Computer aptitude.Capabilities/Motivation:
Strong interest in home furnishings.
Will and ability for further development within IKEA.
Desire to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
Service orientation and attention to detail.
Ability to work in a team and to perform physical work.
Problem solving skills.
Ability to lift 100lbs. (50kg) on a regular basis. Additional Information Must be available nights, weekends and holidays
