Night Operations Manager

PURPOSE:

Responsible for managing the safe, cost effective and efficient operation of a designation department within a grocery distribution center.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Oversee daily activities of the department to maximize production goals and requirements
•Work closely with staff in assigning and tracking production, staffing, and customer service levels
•Review ongoing departmental performance results and take corrective measures as needed with proper authorization
•Participate in periodic planning processes relevant to the business initiatives
•Promote safety and maintain the awareness of a safe work environment
•Handle all relevant employee timekeeping record requirements, vacation scheduling, performance appraisals, disciplinary actions
•Keep immediate supervisor fully informed of all matters of significance and takes prompt corrective action where necessary or suggest alternatives
•Perform all necessary supervisory functions to effectively and efficiently manage the personnel assigned:

•Maintain qualified staff

•Communicate areas of accountability and performance expected of personnel assigned

•Determine standards of performance as a basis to review progress of personnel

•Create and maintain a positive working climate to promote employee morale and productivity

•Maintain a favorable working relationship with all other company employees to promote a cooperative working environment

•Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with established company policies to achieve the overall objectives of this position

•Perform other duties and responsibilities as required

PEOPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Direct supervision of support staff

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:

•Perform work in a refrigerated warehouse with temperatures ranging from -20 degrees Farenheit to 55 degrees Farenheit.
•Perform work in a non-refrigerated warehouse with temperatures that range from 40 degrees Farenheit to 80+ degrees Farenheit.
•Incumbent may use calculators, computers, telephone, and other office equipment in the course of normal workday.
•Stooping, bending, twisting, lifting and reaching may be required in completion of job duties.
REQUIREMENTS
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

•5+ years of grocery warehouse supervisory experience.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills.
•Possess high degree of initiative, proactive skills and abilities.
•Good interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective business relationships at all levels of the company and in the business community.
•Project excellent management, leadership, and supervisory skills
•Possess negotiation and conflict resolution skills
•PC applications literate
•Be available to work varying schedules as business dictates, including days, nights and weekends
