We currently have an opening for a Transportation and Logistics Manager.This professional will manage, direct, and maintain overall Customs Compliance Procedures to ensure that the company is operating under best practices for all imports and exports and will negotiate, monitor, and report on domestic and international freight contracts, issues and projects. This includes receiving, reviewing and forwarding the Federal Register for filing and updating the entity list and denial listing with information from the Federal Register, interfacing with import/export personnel to assure proper export documentation, prepare, research, compile and assemble data for Import Compliance Manual and Export Compliance Manual, review and forward updates from the BNA’s International Trade Reporter on a weekly basis, complete export license applications and follow up, review CTPAT obligations and update procedures for US customs validation process, interfacing with freight forwarders, US Customs Officers, Customer Brokers and external customers in a variety of duties, maintain global freight metrics, oversee the traffic department staff and coordinate department workflow, evaluate, select, and oversee performance of carriers, and other duties and responsibilities as defined by the position.
Qualified candidates will possess a BS in Business Administration, Management, Operations or Logistics or equivalent experience, 5+ years transportation and management experience, including freight and traffic management experience, a minimum of 2 years import/export experience, and experience with international freight/Far East container logistics, and labeling/delivery requirements for major retailers including knowledge of DOT rules and regulations. Strong communication and proficient computer skills plus a high level of interpersonal skills and the ability to work across functional and organizational lines, plus high motivation and the ability to work flexible hours to accommodate business needs are a must. US Customs Brokers License, Previous Oracle and/or Kewill experience, and a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience are preferred.If you're willing to work hard and have fun, take a look at Garmin.
