Wheelchair Van Driver

American Medical Response (AMR) is seeking a qualified Wheelchair Van Driver to join our Austin team.

SUMMARY: To provide high quality, personalized customer service in the capacity of Wheelchair Transport Service Driver/Representative.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Transports patients to and from point of pickup to destination in a prompt and courteous manner with patient comfort, safety and satisfaction a priority.

•Responsible for driving wheelchair vehicle with due regard for public safety complying with all traffic ordinances.

•Responsible for loading, securing, and unloading wheelchair bound patients from the vehicle and providing assistance as appropriate and necessary.

•Completes inventories and trip ticket-work in a timely manner.

•Maintain punctual and regular attendance.

•Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

NONESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Perform other duties required.
REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
HS Diploma or GED. First aid & CPR certified as per contract. Valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle driving record with proof of at least 3 years driving history required. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Able to demonstrate knowledge of streets and rotations in the. Able to speak and write the English language. Must be able to push, pull or lift at least 125 pounds. Ability to discern street signs. Previous experience in wheelchair transportation service preferred. Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
