SAFETY MANAGER

Administer the safety program for the Transportation division. Chairs the division Safety Committe. Supervises secretary or personnel clerk. Works under the direction of the division general manager. Manages and implements driver safety training and awards programs. Ensures accurate, complete safety records are maintained. Ensures proper employee records and verifications are maintained as pertaining to the safety program. Audits division safety program. Generates reports regarding division safety program. Analyzes and determines preventability of accidents. Communicates with drivers and insurance, legal, etc. representatives regarding accidents. Good knowledge of Company policies and practices. Considerable knowledge of Department of Transportation safety requirements and the ability to maintain required documentation. Ability to conduct training programs and communicate safety expectations to employees. Completion of a standard High School education supplemented by course work relating to recordkeeping, safety practices and principles, and/or related areas and considerable experience in administering and communicating safety or related programs; or any equivalent combination of exp. and training that results in the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
