Job Summary:

What you will be doing:
Designing, implementing, and supporting Software solutions for internal and external customers using current technologies like Java, J2EE, C and Perl in a Linux and Solaris based environment.
Participate in the Customer-Facing Product Lifecycle and be involved in the rollout of new broadband products and services while meeting the demands of the Internet Market.
Conduct research and make recommendations on products, tools, services, technologies, and standards for the TDS infrastructure.
Create solutions that are always available and redundant with high performance requirements.
Using a combination of Open Source and Commercial solutions to solve today's problems, with a vision towards the future.

REQUIREMENTS
Required Qualifications:
1+ years of experience in 2 of the following languages: Java 1.4, C (UNIX ANSI), Perl (5.x or better), PHP (4.x or better)
1+ years experience in a UNIX-based environment with proficiency in most aspects of system administration, networking and troubleshooting
1+ years of software design experience in a production environment
Availability to consult or assist in an on-call rotation as well as perform after-hours software rollouts as needed

Other Qualifications:
Associates degree in Engineering, Telecommunications or Computer Science. Significant work experience may offset degree requirements.
Some knowledge of the following infrastructure systems: Java, J2EE, C, C++, PERL, PHP, Shell Scripting Languages, UNIX, Solaris, Linux, TCP/IP, DNS, and other web based applications.
Knowledge of database systems like Oracle, MySQL, BerkleyDB, and Postgres.
Some knowledge of the Internet and networking concepts underlying the above systems (UNIX, SMTP, POP, DNS, etc)
General knowledge of the following categories of network systems: Multiprocessing, Threading, Distributed systems, Load Balancing and High Availability.
