Research Associate

Purpose: - DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES DUTIES >> Description: The individual in this position will have responsibility for providing technical support for the immunohistochemistry core facility, a part of the Pathology Department. Duties include performing immunohistochemistry, immunoflourescence, database entry, histopathological slide interpretation, report writing and photographic documentation. Additional opportunities include collaborations with outside organizations in development and application of new technologies to immunohistochemistry methodology.The individual must be able to work collaboratively in a small group setting, as well as independently in setting up projects.

Requirements: The candidate must have a BS or equivalent and have at least two years previous experience in performing immunohistochemistry on paraffin and frozen sections of human and non-human tissue. Applied knowledge of antigen retrieval techniques and IHC amplification methods are important. Excellent communication, organization and problem-solving skills and an effective team working ability are required for this position.
