Gore's Medical Products Division is seeking a hands-on chemist or chemical engineer to support R&D and new product development for multiple on-going and planned products. This individual will be responsible for working with team members in developing technology- and product- concepts for novel medical devices, building prototypes, and performing analysis testing. The successful candidate must be capable of reducing novel product development concepts to practice. Additionally, this individual will be responsible for design and documentation of lab experiments. This role will require working with an established technology/product development team as well as interfacing with other development/ manufacturing teams. Some travel requirements.Qualifications
MS or BS in chemistry, chemical engineering, or related field is required. Work experience must be in polymer synthesis, surface modification, biomedical engineering, tissue engineering, medical implant design, and/or drug delivery. It is desirable to have experience with a wide range of polymers (degradable and non-degradable, fluoropolymers, polypeptide/polysaccharide) for medical applications. A high degree of chemical aptitude is sought. Must be self-motivated and technically driven with strong work ethic and problem solving ability. Good communications skills (written and oral) are a must, with statistical analysis knowledge a definite plus. Must work well both individually and in a team environment.
