We are seeking a Product Marketing Manager for our Sales Division for our Sunnyvale, CA office.
Responsibilities:
Directs the development of company market requirements for specific product(s) or product line(s).
Monitors the development of business plans, managing lifecycles and product positioning in the marketplace.
Prepares business cases for pursuing market opportunities. In pursuing an opportunity, he/she is responsible for the development of marketing programs and sales tools to enable the field organization to generate revenue for the product(s) and/or service(s) assigned.
Oversees market research, monitors competitive activity and identifies customer needs. Establishes pricing strategies.
Directly involved in strategic deals to support sales efforts, at the same time, captures exact needs of the customers to enhance the product(s) to better serve them.
Interacts with engineering and sales to develop new products or enhance existing product(s) or product line(s).
Identifies key market opportunities, the development of marketing requirements, and the development and implementation of a marketing launch plan.
Drive PR activities by producing topics and news for the market. Coordinate communication efforts with marketing communications team and PR agency.
Drive PR activities by selling the company and product(s)' story and messages. This includes the creation, testing, and communication of those messages with analysts and industry opinion leaders.
Supports the development and implementation business plans for extending the company's product and service lines including a business case for investment in the development and launch of new offerings.
REQUIREMENTS
Understands mainframe applications development/IT market, particularly in relation to the use of COBOL, CICS, JCL, VSAM, DB2, IMS, and IDMS.
Experience of, or familiarity with, migrating mainframe applications to other environments such as Windows and Linux.
Familiarity with the concepts and use of Microsoft.NET, Java, J2EE and sufficient technical abilities to keep up with advances in these areas.
Ability to handle multiple projects
Strong interpersonal, communications and writing skills, including the ability to communicate with people in multi-national, multi-cultural environments
Demonstrable track record of relevant achievement working within the enterprise software industry
Strong background in marketing or selling to individuals within large, complex customer organizations.
Proven record of developing and executing successful marketing and sales strategies including targeting, positioning, and messaging including the development of deliverables such as: datasheets, white papers, sales presentations, demo storyboards, marketing campaigns, and other sales and marketing collateral
Effective user of office productivity software (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
Education / Experience:
BA/BS degree with 3-5 years experience in enterprise software marketing with emphasis on product marketing and/or product management. MBA desirable.
Close involvement with COBOL application development and developers at some point in career a big plus.
Must have experience positioning, messaging, and launching software products on a global basis, with direct experience coordinating and communicating with international business offices.
Strongest candidates will possess multiple skills sets acquired through combined experience in software product management, marketing, system consulting, and/or sales.
