Full Job Title: Hospital Products Sales Rep. (North Denver, CO) (Denver, Nebraska)Job Summary: ROLE PURPOSE:NOTE: IDEALLY, CANDIDATE WOULD RESIDE IN DENVER, CO; OMAHA OR LINCOLN, NB)Ensure the achievement of sales goals in territory by promoting Astellas products and services to physicians and other medical personnel within assigned geography. Responsible for educating customers on the use, characteristics, advantages, indicated treatments and all other developments related to promoted products. Responsible for representing Astellas in the field and for ensuring high levels of visibility and customer satisfaction in territory. Responsible for maintaining effective communication and relationships with key external and internal customers.
Job Responsibilities: Key Accountabilities Key Activities/ Decision Areas Calls on targeted physicians, hospitals, clinics, homecare facilities, and drug distributors to promote and educate on the use of Astellas Hospital products through one-on-one meetings and presentations, professional education programs and other appropriate means Provides support to customers using company resources, including training, company literature, product samples, speaker programs and other Scientific Affairs and Healthcare Marketing initiatives Ensures coordination of promotional effort with peers across franchises and with co-promotion alliance partners Actively pursues communication techniques and product / therapeutic area training Assists with region recruitment and development programs, providing feedback and suggesting improvements based on experience Foster teamwork and proactive and open communication within team and sets expectations and high standards for each team member Demonstrates Astellas values by adhering to corporate policies (including Code of Ethics, Travel and Entertainment, Anti-Discrimination and Harassment, and others as issued by the Company) Drive for Results Assumes direct responsibility for the achievement of quarterly sales goals within territory Adheres to highly ethical sales practices, observing all regulations required Maximizes productivity and sales effectiveness within territory Demonstrates a take action approach toward fulfilling Astellas and franchise goalsIdentifies and communicates problems; takes ownership of situations; implements Marketing Initiatives and Territory Planning Executes Healthcare Marketing plans and promotional activities to customers within territory Develops and implements annual Territory Business Plan incorporating goals, strategies and tactics using significant marketing and competitive information as well as territory sales and call activity reports to ensure optimum strategy deployment
Business Management Accurately report sales activities through ATLAS (Astellas acronym for the system) using provided PDA and Laptop systems. and for tracking territory expenses and submitting written reports as necessary Responsible for attending all company-sponsored sales and medical meetings as directed by company management (POAs, National Sales Meetings, Regional and Local Conventions, etc.) Responsible for the adequate management and maintenance of all company equipment and promotional materials (company literature, product samples, etc.) Responsible for ensuring high levels of call and field productivity, with 5 full days in the field each week, supported by office time required for call planning and follow-up, prepare presentations, make appointments, etc.
Job Requirements Minimum 4 years pharmaceutical sales experience with at least 2 years promoting specialty pharmaceuticals to specialty physicians (NOTE: anti-infective, cardiovascular, hospitals products, or other critical care product sales and physician contact preferred) Strong clinical background (e.g., PharmD, RN, PA, MD, etc.) is desirable Candidate must reside within a business hub of the assigned territory Overnight travel will vary depending on territory size; 15-35% to be anticipated Must be able to demonstrate a track record of sustained strong sales achievement Extensive knowledge of sales processes and pharmaceutical products and industry Excellent communication, facilitation and presentation skills Can do approach and very high motivational and persuasion skills BA/BS degree is required Submit resume in MSWord format
