JOB SUMMARY:

Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the retail area to ensure a high level of customer service standards and achievement of overall retail sales objectives of the salon. Develop retail sales goals; merchandise stock procedures and staff product training programs. Utilize strong communication, sales and presentation skills to effectively promote service and drive the sales efforts. Direct and coordinate the activities of the Retail and Make up staff to ensure adequate coverage on the floor for retail and that client needs are met. Comply with corporate reporting requirements and procedures established for retail products.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

Reports to the General Manager – Red Door Division

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure that all locations are meeting the 52 Standards of Excellence in the Make-up Department.
Accountable for the shared responsibility of meeting fiscal retail sales goals.
Development of Make Up Managers to exceed retail revenue.
Hiring, firing and disciplinary actions are consistent to needs.
Travel to all locations on a daily basis/out of state locations on a quarterly basis.
Maintain quality control of ordering stock.
Provide daily coaching to managers regarding staff situations.
Serve as a temporary Department Manager for locations that have a hiring need.
Responsible for coverage of shifts when Department Managers are unable to fulfill duty.
Communicate with Regional Trainer on staff training needs.
Continually teach sales training classes to increase revenue.
Work one-on-one with Make up artists needing extra sales advice and training.
To be available by phone communication to solve arising problems on a daily basis.
Organize and orchestrate monthly manager meetings to discuss motivational sales techniques, review of monthly sales and overall development of management staff.
Communicate with all General Managers and Salon Regional Managers to ensure success of Make up Departments.
Review and approve all vacation and time off requests.
Create and be actively involved in promotional events for troubled locations.
Staff all photo-shoots, fashion shows and all other marketing events to create revenue for all locations.
Oversee all schedules for all locations.
Review leverage reports to assess additional training needs for individual Make Up Artists.
Maintain consistent rapport and motivation with all staff and department.
Additional projects or duties may be assigned by Director if needed.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Previous retail sales management experience in a beauty or spa environment.
Highly motivated individual with excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
Able to work with and manage various personalities.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and administrative skills.
Team player with strong leadership and supervisory skills.
Self-starter, able to work independently with little or no direction.
Good organization skills with ability to meet constant deadlines and handle multiple priorities.
Flexible and available to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.
