Sous Chef Positions

We are a busy restaurant in the heart of Downtown Culver City. We are currently seeking culinary talent at the Sous Chef position. As Sous Chef, you will train and manage kitchen personnel and supervise/coordinate all related culinary activities; estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase food, select and develop recipes, standardize production recipes to ensure consistent quality, establish presentation technique and quality standards, plan and price menus, ensures proper equipment operation/maintenance and ensures proper safety and sanitation in kitchen. You may cook selected items as well. You may oversee special catering events and may also offer culinary instruction and/or demonstrate culinary techniques. We are looking for Sous Chefs that share our company values and love to teach and motivate as well as cook.
REQUIREMENTS
Ideal candidates will possess a culinary degree with 5+ years of industry & culinary management experience in a scratch kitchen and who have a track record of driving for results. The ability to manage in a diverse environment. Previous experience with control food & labor cost, demonstration cooking, menu development and pricing and development of culinary team preferred.Additional areas of responsibility include:*Safety issues within the kitchen environment.*Implementation and management of company’s policies and procedures.*Payroll management and productivity (accurate and timely) information.*Managing the routine maintenance of kitchen dishwashing equipment.*Communicating effectively with purveyors.*Team building and mentoring skills.*Managing financial goals.*Effective employee interaction skills.*Consistent physical presence with staff.*Some computer skills.*language skills.
