Shift Leader - Gordon Food Service

Position Summary:

Performs management assigned duties that may include customer service, cash management, inventory management, receiving inventory, stocking, store conditions, and operating a cash register. Assists the store management team in the management of daily store operations. In the absence of upper-management, supervise associates in the performance of their assigned duties, opens and closes the store.

Essential Functions:

Assist the management team, as assigned, in the management of daily store operations and assist in supervising associates in the performance of their assigned duties. Open and close the store. Execute store policies and procedures and all safety and security measures.
Provide superior customer service by greeting customers, answering questions on products and services, suggestive selling, and explaining and administering customer loyalty programs.
Receiving product in an organized and timely manner, ordering, inventory verification and adjustments.
Deliver quality customer service through proper cash handling, speed, accuracy, and proper data capture at the cash register.
Performs cash handling functions including setting up tills, counting down tills, preparing bank deposits, and getting change for cashiers as assigned.
Ensure that all areas of the store are properly cleaned and maintained.
Support merchandising functions including signs and price tags, stock products, merchandising and facing of products, perform product rotation and product quality control, and planogram implementation.
Support the training of associates to ensure that store condition standards, sales and customer service is maintained.
Adhere to the purpose and philosophy of the organization.
REQUIREMENTS


Education:

High School Diploma or GED, associate’s degree preferred.

Experience:

One to two years previous customer service and supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
