Job Title: Recreation Supervisor
Location: Lake Forest, CA
Salary: Depends on experience /qualifications
General Purpose of Job: To coordinate, develop & direct all areas of recreation for a family-oriented clubhouse. Programs include classes, clubs and special events.
Organizational Relationships: Reports to the General Manager with significant contact with Board of Directors, committees, residents, guests, contractors, outside groups and associations, and employees.
Duties and Responsibilities:Develops, promotes and directs a recreation/activities program, including music, dance, arts and crafts, youth activities, tennis, swimming, social recreation and games.Adapts recreation/activities programs to meet the needs of the residents.Introduces new program activities, equipment, and materials to staff and residents.Interprets recreation service to the association and participates in community meetings and organizational planning.Works in team with General Manager and Board of Directors to ensure that recreation is well balanced, coordinated and integrated with special services.Compiles information for the recreation section of the Village News.Responsible for the operation of the front desk, pool, bar and youth activities programs including staffing.Updates and maintains the associations Master Events Calendar.Coordinating all room rentals including; preparation of the Room Rental Agreements; collection of deposits; coordination of setup, cleanup, and deliveries; determining the amount of deposit reimbursement.Assisting the General Manager in the preparation of the budget for the Recreation Department.Interviewing and hiring, appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Other duties as assigned by management
Desirable Qualifications:
Education & ExperienceBachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in Recreation from a four-year college or university.3 years Recreational / Supervision experience
Related Skills/AbilitiesAbility to maintain effective working relationships with other employees, General Manager, Board of Directors, and homeowners and resolve conflicts and problems courteously and tactfully.Ability to gather, analyze and evaluate facts to prepare and present concise oral and written reports and make formal presentations before groups.Ability to write articles for publication.Knowledge of proper English, spelling and vocabulary usage; the organization and functions of the corporation; and, modern office equipment, practices, systems and procedures.Knowledge of association documents and committee structure and function.
Special RequirementsValid California drivers license, DMV printout and proof of current automobile insurance.Will be required to attend functions and work a flexible schedule that will include days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
