In-House Caterer
Are you a hands-on self-starter who possesses outstanding people skills and a commitment and dedication to quality and excellence? Do you have a passion for food preparation, and event planning? If so, you may be just the person we’re looking for to join our team.
We require an energetic and passionate individual to oversee our Associate lunch program and special events.
A candidate destined to succeed will possess initiative and creativity in meeting the food service needs of the organization; the ability to work independently; the ability to maintain positive, friendly relationships with associates; the ability to effectively manage your time. You will coordinate all aspects of food preparation, presentation, and clean up. You will promote, prepare and provide nutritious meals, and you will be responsible for shopping, budgeting and keeping records for the corporate catering program.As In-House Caterer you will report directly to the Director of Continuous Learning and Leadership Development. You will interact with members of the Beekley team on a daily basis.Performance Objectives:•Prepare food for Associate lunch program and special events: Create an appealing and flexible menu that aligns with Beekley’s wellness focus and our Associate’s dietary needs. Creativity is a must with food presentation and when developing themes for special events.
•Maintain budget for lunch program and catered events: Creatively manage and oversee budget to stretch the luncheon/event dollar. Maintain accurate records for accounting and collection. Develop positive vendor relations and coordinate services with outside food providers. Purchase both food and non-food supplies including, coffee, tea, creamers, water, milk, paper goods, etc. Forecast food consumption for current and future budgetary purposes.•Maintain cleanliness: Keep our dining area clean and organized. This includes daily maintenance of dishwashers, microwaves, refrigerators, stove, counters, and tabletops.
•Ensure safe food handling: Practice proper sanitation and food preparation protocols.**Work a flexible schedule including 24 - 30 hours/week; must plan to be in-house during core hours of 10:00 - 1:00 Monday - Friday; remaining schedule is at yur discretion and based program needs.
REQUIREMENTS
•Experience with food preparation and events coordination
•Ability to manage a budget
•Effective communication skills – ability to present ideas and information in a concise and organized manner
•Strong time management skills
•Ability to work in a fast paced environment
