Franchise Area Director- San Antonio

As of Dec. 25, 2005, there were 1,804 Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar restaurants, of which 1,318 were operated by franchisees and 486 were operated by the company.Key Accountabilities:1. Improve franchise operations. Focus on reducing variability and applying Best Demonstrated Practices.
Conduct 2 AOA's per restaurant per year
Special assessments (i.e. To-Go assessments) as required
Evaluate operations using tools such as the Applebee's Operations Assessment, and then consult to find solutions. Work with franchisee to improve priority opportunities.2. Improve franchise sales.
Ensure successful new store openings.
Ensure operational execution standards are met to achieve sales objectives
Achieve targeted Sales Growth for franchise restaurants under your direction, including new unit sales, comparative sales and non-comp sales3. Enhance franchise satisfaction and build positive working relationships with franchisees; act as the answer person.
Reinforce franchisee priorities & business objectives (i.e. special emphasis for the quarter, etc.)
Focus efforts appropriately
Serve as the main operations contact between franchise principal or GM/AD/DO/VPO and A.I.I. (DFO). This relationship will allow communication to flow more consistently both up and down the system.4. Ensure successful rollout of system-wide programs.
These programs may include, but are not limited to Campaigns, New Menu items, and training initiatives. Assist franchisee with successful implementation of new initiatives.5. Document visits and franchisee performance.
Recap weekly visits back to franchisee and senior leadership with overview of common opportunities and potential solutions
Document follow up and analysis from other metrics such as guest complaints, CSI scores, EcoSure audits and AOA analysis tool
Provide accurate record of findings; document feedback and coaching given the franchisees on operations, expectations and standards compliance.6. Enhance and develop franchisee skill levels.
.Teach, mentor and coach the franchise GM/AD levels for groups under his/her direction. Requirements

Ideal candidate will have:Bachelor's Degree or the requisite experience in a multi-unit casual dining chain.
3-5 years restaurant General Manager experience plus 1-2 years multi unit restaurant management or franchise operations experience.
Experience with a national restaurant company with franchisees.
