Assistant Manager, Marketplace Foods/Restaurants Overview of Position:The Restaurants / Marketplace Foods Assistant Manager assumes ultimate responsibility for the efficient, professional, safe and profitable operation of the Marketplace Foods/Restaurant operation. Needs to be motivating while training team members. Key Accountabilities: Assist Manager with sales and direct profit responsibility for the Marketplace Foods / Restaurant operation. Purchase, prepare and present products in accordance with Food Division standards. Establish and maintain strong working relationships with store management. Maximize profitability of a single or multiple-concept strategy, which may include restaurant, deli, coffee, yogurt, soups, wraps, gourmet foods, candy and/or wine. Work with store Human Resources office to coordinate all hiring, recruiting, termination and employee relations resolutions. Monitor and document employee performance and deliver all employee performance appraisals. Maintain role model standards in grooming and professional appearance and communications. Meet highest standards of workplace sanitation/equipment care and safety as set by Health Department and company policy. Schedule and complete weekly payroll to maximize labor cost control and guest satisfaction. Utilize daily sales reports and weekly food cost and payroll reports to ensure monthly profit/loss goals are met. Provide education to staff on new products/menus and ensure adherence to recipes. Order food, beverage, dry and paper goods based on needs of the business. Review all invoices to ensure cost and quality controls. Ensure timely payment of invoices according to vendor contracts. Conduct food inventories to ensure they are taken on a timely and accurate basis to ensure targeted food and liquor costs are maintained. Responsible for the coordination and execution of special events. Responsible for additional assignments/goals as given by Central Group Manager. Successfully execute Central-driven promotional strategies. Provide ongoing training to all Food Service employees on a regular basis.
