Staff Research Associate I

Under the direction of the Primary Investigator the Research Associate will be trained to perform several different assays to measure oxidative DNA damage and plasma antioxidant activity, phase two enzyme activity, and markers of inflammation. Methods such as HPLC analysis, ELISA, enzymatic determinations, and other biochemical methods will be used. In addition the candidate will perform cell culture experiments, optimize cell culture conditions, maintain several cell lines and perform Western blot analysis and real-time PCR to determine protein and gene expression of transcription factors.

Required Skills:
Educational background in the biological sciences. BS preferred or equivalent background. Basic and advanced laboratory knowledge & skills are required.
