Sr. Technician
This is a lab position in which the individual will support new material evaluation and method development for multiple personal product categories including Color Cosmetics, Skin Care, Hair Care and Personal Care. This includes testing various classes of physical raw materials (e.g., polymers, surfactants, novel pigments, adhesives and optical materials), producing formulation batches, designing and conducting necessary instrument testing (i.e. rheometry, solubility, pH, DSC, TAG, surface analysis and Hunter L, a, b), The individual will be required to maintain neat and accurate data records analyze and report of such data and make recommendations for future experimentation. It is expected that the individual will read and comprehend relevant scientific literature. The individual will be required to maintain a safe working environment at all times.
REQUIREMENTS
The candidate requires an Associate, BS or equivalent degree in analytical chemistry, polymer cosmetic chemistry or related field. 1-4 years of experience in the related field is desirable. The individual must have a working knowledge of common physical science instrumentation and testing protocols, such as rheometetry, solubility, pH, DSC, TGA, surface analysis, and Hunter L, a, b. The individual should be able to comprehend and work independently on material evaluation and formulation procedures. Additionally the individual needs to be flexible with regard to taking on time constrained work assignments and fully capable of multi-tasking. The individual will have strong organizational and time management skills, and must be able to work in a team environment. The individual should be proficient in Microsoft office and flexible with regard to learning company and instrument specific software. Finally the individual must be professional and demonstrate a good attendance, safety and performance record in present position.
