Sr Mgr Consumer Research
Philip Morris USA Inc., a leading manufacturer and marketer of consumer products made for adults, seeks a highly qualified Senior Manager - Consumer Insights for our Market Information department in Richmond, Virginia.The position is responsible for providing fundamental knowledge about the Adult Consumer and market place trends to the Marketing Brand Group and the VP of Marketing upon which critical business decisions are made.A master's degree with a concentration in Social Sciences, Marketing or Market Research is preferred for this position along with a working knowledge of statistics as well as a minimum of eight years' prior experience in planning and conducting quantitative and qualitative research studies. Strong analytical skills and excellent written and oral communication skills are required for this position as well as extensive experience in questionnaire development and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data. Also required is the ability to interact with people at all levels, both inside and outside the company with tact, professionalism and diplomacy. A fundamental understanding of statistical applications is a necessity.This is a highly specialized, creative position requiring a strong knowledge of general business activities, an in-depth knowledge of primary and secondary research methodologies, and expertise in the analysis and communication of data. Sound judgment and decision making are critical in this position. The ability to prioritize, conceptualize, implement and deliver projects within schedule/budget is crucial.Qualifications
Specific duties include but are not limited to:
-Supporting senior team initiatives and the Marlboro Virginia Slims, Parliament, Basic Brand organization by envisioning, designing, using primary, internal database, and secondary research, to provide insights for the development and refinement of cigarette Brand initiatives;
-Coordinating the evaluation of cigarette initiatives both qualitatively and quantitatively, specifically measuring the programs appeal, relevant audience, and potential opportunities for enhancement using focus groups, one-on-ones and large scale survey methods;
-Making specific recommendations for research projects, both exploratory and evaluative to the cigarette Brand team;
-Identifying and delegating work to appropriate resources, including senior research analyst, research analyst and suppliers, on a project by project basis;
-Keeping abreast of the latest methods in survey research and developing new research suppliers as business needs dictate; and
