Sr Food Technologist - Tomatoes

Support technical initiatives with expanding exposure to business teams. Support delivery of technology & business objectives and meets individual & organizational goals. Provides input to defining technical objectives.Plan out project needs in terms of assumptions, timelines, milestones, hurdles and contingencies and manage the project steps accordingly.
Independently design & execute experiments using technical knowledge and experimental design principals. Coordinate & execute plant trials and prepare results for review.
Apply knowledge of technical field to work & maintain awareness of technical developments in field.
Prepare and present results, both written & oral, to various levels of management.
Preparation of technical reports.
Develop & issue technical specifications.
Understanding of fiscal and strategic plans for assigned business teams and participation in planning process as needed.
Independently develop technical work plans and execute projects integrated with business teams.
Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Will lead some technical project teams.
May manage technicians and/or interns. Mentoring of junior staff.
Complete projects on budget, appropriate attention to cost considerations.BS in Food Science or related field w/ 4 + years relevant work experience, MS in Food Science or related field w/ 2 + years relevant work experience, or PhD in Food Science or related field w/ 0-2 years relevant work experience.
(Related fields include: Foods & Nutrition, Dairy Science, Food Chemistry, Food Processing)
Experience in R&D Product Development in a food company required, CPG desired. Experience in Culinary and/or Tomato products and processing a huge plus. Food safety and thermal processing experience desired.
Demonstrated ability in handling complex tasks & projects as well multiple projects concurrently. Clear understanding of organization & increasing integration with business teams.
May travel up to 30% of time. Must be able to travel independently and as a responsible CAG representative.
