Sr Analytical Scientist II - Analytical Development

This position is located in Lincoln, Nebraska.Manages analytical development and chemistry-related activities for new OTC products under direction of the Associate Director of Analytical Development. Manages projects against timelines and budgets while maintaining high quality standards. Leads a team of two to six scientists. Participates in Project Teams. Works with contract research laboratories as required and performs or coordinates due diligence and technical capability audits. Assists with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) audits as required.Conducts or manages testing of R&D batches, i.e. prototypes, experimental formulas, stability, clinical supply and validation batches, and of new raw materials. Conducts or coordinates experiments, investigations, and special testing as needed in order to solve problems, resolve regulatory issues, or characterize drug substances or products. Responsible for preparation of the analytical portions of regulatory submissions. Has close interaction with other NCH functions and departments including: all other departments in OTC R&D; Product Supply, especially Quality; and occasionally with Marketing, Sales, and Legal. Has close interaction with third-party suppliers, laboratories, and contractors. Maintains GMP compliant, state-of-the-art analytical laboratories.Qualifications
Principal Scientist & Sr. Analytical Scientist Qualifications:
Advanced knowledge of chemical sciences, especially analytical techniques and instruments; good decision making and negotiation skills; creative and demonstrates initiative; ability to manage projects; ability to work in a team environment and to manage and lead teams; excellent written and verbal communication; flexible to change and shifting priorities; ability to manage multiple priorities, and high professional and ethical standards.Principal Scientist Education/Experience:
Preference for PhD in Chemistry with 6+ years experience in pharmaceutical industry and prior experience in managing projects and leading teams.Sr. Analytical Scientist Education/Experience:
Preference for PhD in Chemistry with 2+ years experience or MS with 6+ years experience in pharmaceutical industry and prior experience in managing projects and leading teams.
