SHSS-Senior Data Analyst (Developer/Programmer)*

Sutter Health Support Services (SHSS) is the Support Center for the Sutter Health affiliates. We house all non-medical departments and healthcare support departments that are not provided at the affiliates.



Sutter Health Support Services is the home office of Sutter Health, Northern California's largest non-profit network of hospitals, long-term care centers, physician groups, medical foundations, research institutes, and home health agencies. The departments at the home office help support the Sutter Health affiliate network through Finance, Training, Human Resources, Risk Management, Marketing, and Legal Counsel, just to name a few.



The Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for implementing and supporting application-user and technical perspectives and the technical aspects of product implementation/rollout and support. The incumbent will monitor the systems for data quality, efficiency, operation, and data integrity. The Sr. Data Analyst will assist in critical system analysis, design, development, documentation, and configuration as well as testing and training of the product. The candidate for this position must be able to provide consulting expertise to internal customers with supported systems in order to deliver best practices from both a product and operations perspective.



The principal accountabilities for the Sr. Data Analyst includes but is not limited to the following primary areas:Provide accurate cost and benefit strategies for negotiations by writing programming language for the cost-modeling tool, documenting and prioritizing features of the modeling tool, rolling out training in order for the entities to function independently and compiling and auditing reports to ensure accuracy. Analysis, Implementation, Development and Configuration in accordance with operational and technical requirements. Ensure the integrity and quality of data standards. Develop administration manuals and procedures and conducts training for the relevant staff. Identify, evaluate and support various initiatives through the use of technology.
REQUIREMENTS




Education:

A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business with MIS emphasis, or related field is required. For applicants with degrees not related to Computer Science, significant specialized course work or experience in data analysis or database development is required. The equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.



Experience:

Significant experience in leading the development and/or ongoing operational/maintenance support of Information Systems projects and systems analysis is required, preferably in a healthcare environment. Experience analyzing and supporting large projects is required. Experience in developing and maintaining data standards is required. Must have experience with developing methodologies for data access, data analysis, data mapping, and data transformation. Experience in the deployment and utilization of decision support tools in a healthcare environment is preferred. Experience with logical and physical data models is preferred. Familiar with Web Development, VB.Net, ASP.Net and C# is preferred.



Detailed analysis skills in a technical environment are required, as is experience in the following areas:SQL Server Database experience MS Excel and Access (including macros) VBA language proficiency, demonstrated ADO use Reporting applications associated with an HRIS Web design, web application, data integration and methodology Project management



Knowledge:

The Senior Data Analyst must possess a broad perspective of the healthcare business and an understanding of day-to-day operations. Knowledge of data warehouse and decision support strategies is preferred. Background in developing data standards to support reporting and analysis, and business intelligence tools is required. Knowledge and understanding of data modeling and current trends in healthcare and data warehousing is preferred.



Special Skills/Equipment:

The Senior Data Analyst must demonstrate organizational, analytical and problem solving skills. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to identify technical issues and work with others to meet those needs. Must be able to communicate technical issues and solutions in business terms. Must have a commitment to detail and accuracy. Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must be able to support multiple team members and their own assigned projects. Must have proven success in communicating with multiple levels of an organization.
