Research and Development Project Manager

Purpose: Our client is looking for a Research and Development Project Manager for their Silver Spring facility.

Summary

Cross functional position involved in all components of the R&D dept including pre-clinical, manufacturing, and CMC, basic research, and external R&D programs.

Interact extensively with departments such as Project management, Regulatory, Quality, and Clinical.

Requires an understanding of the basic research and drug development processes, HIV and AIDS, chemistry, and project management.

Industrial experience is a plus.

Must have a BS/MS degree in biology, chemistry, pharmaceutics with 10 years of experience in project management and product development.

Must be able to work independently and handle multiple projects at once.

Responsibilities:

Track and coordinate tasks in each R&D programs.

Development and management of a project tracking system.

Expedite R&D project progress through task management and coordination with other departments.

Report project status, progress, bottlenecks, etc. orally and in written form.

Assist in planning, budgeting, and contract development for existing and new projects.

Contribute to technical discussions on R&D projects

Work well in a team structure with rapidly changing timelines and priorities

Skills and Abilities:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience working with external contractors and consultants
Task management/planning
Experience in supporting regulatory and clinical activities
