Research Scientist - Biochemist (BCS&E)

The Research Chemist will use their knowledge of biochemistry while working to develop biocatalytic routes to making chemicals and materials.  The role of the biochemist/enzymologist is to identify potential enzyme catalysts in the design phase of the project, then to troubleshoot and solve problems associated with the function of those enzymes in the process.  The work may include carrying out directed evolution and designing and automating screens to improve biocatalysts.  To be successful, the candidate must possess knowledge consistent with a PhD in biochemistry or chemistry.  The person we hire will be expected to participate in multi-functional research teams, to maintain knowledge of the state-of-the-art in biochemistry and integrate that into DuPont programs where appropriate; to maintain expertise within multiple technologies in the areas of biocatalysis and metabolic engineering; and to communicate effectively across the organization via presentations and written reports. 

 

 
REQUIREMENTS


PhD in Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a related discipline. 

Minimum of 2 years of postdoctoral experience.

Advanced knowledge of biochemistry with emphasis in enzyme functin and analysis.
