Research Scientist

Purpose: Large Pharmaceutical Company (BMS) - Pennington, NJ

The Clinical Discovery Technologies Oncology Biomarker Group uses state of the art technologies to discover and implement biomarker strategies for furthering development of the BMS oncology pipeline. Members of this team work on various projects in concert with Discovery, Clinical Discovery, Global Clinical Research, and Global Medical Affairs and have impact at many different levels of the organization. This team is responsible for the application of genetic, genomic and proteomic technologies for identification and development of novel biomarkers.


The successful candidate will participate in the design and conduct of experiments that support biomarker discovery and validation for oncology drug discovery and development programs. Candidates should preferably have expertise in qRT-PCR, DNA and RNA isolation, DNA sequencing and other basic molecular and cell biology skills. Candidates should have some familiarity with data analysis tools. Prior experience with clinical samples and diagnostic systems is a plus. Previous work experience in the field of oncology biomarker discovery and development is a plus. Successful candidates will be motivated and collaborative individuals with the ability to multitask and drive team achievement. Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to clearly communicate scientific project results are required. Education Preferred - BS or MS in Biological Sciences field, preferably Molecular Biology. One to two years work experience preferred.
