Research Scientist

We are seeking an energetic individual to join our Drug Substance Development group. The successful candidate must have experience in protein purification, and will work in a multi-disciplinary team environment focused on development of large-scale chromatography processes suitable for the manufacture of protein therapeutics for use in human clinical studies. The successful candidate may also be responsible for activities required in support of existing commercial manufacturing process operations. Investigations will focus primarily on chromatographic methods, but alternative means of protein purification may be utilized. The development work will include the resin screening, optimization of operating conditions, process scale-up, and process improvement of chromatographic based separations advancing from clinical product candidates to commercial manufacturing.Requirements:
Qualified candidates should have a B.S with 4+ years experience or a M.S. with 2+ years experience in protein chemistry, biochemistry, or chemical engineering with lab experience focusing on the purification and/or characterization of proteins. Experience with validation of clinical/commercial manufacturing processes is a plus, as is industrial experience with chromatographic separations of proteins. Familiarity with protein analytical techniques such as one dimensional gel electrophoresis, UV/VIS and fluorescence spectroscopy, and reversed-phase and SEC HPLC is also desirable.
