Institutional investment analysts leverage Gerson Lehrman Group's Consumer Goods and Services research practice to evaluate the market trends, industries, assets, companies, brands and products associated with the Consumer Goods and Services sector including the Retail, Food & Beverage, and Leisure & Lodging industries.

Description of the Research Manager role: Research Managers provide the critical link between Gerson Lehrman Group’s clients and the resources of the Councils of Advisors.

The Research Manager position is a two-year opportunity at Gerson Lehrman Group. Research Managers learn how leading investment managers leverage primary research to make better decisions; develop deep relationships with leaders and front-line managers in these global industries; and have direct responsibility for growing revenue in our core research business.

Research Managers have four primary responsibilities:
Facilitate and execute custom research projects for clients – consultations, custom surveys, and custom recruiting
Work with Senior Research Managers and our Sales team to increase client utilization rates
Develop relationships with analysts and portfolio managers at clients that enable the aforementioned responsibilities
Demonstrate clear initiative in developing our business

Consistently providing clients with superior solutions on a high volume of diverse custom research projects
Establishing strong information service-based relationships with top investment management analysts
Growing Gerson Lehrman Group's standing in client evaluations
Contributing to the growth of our business in other avenues
REQUIREMENTS
Preliminary criteria for the position include:
A minimum of one year work experience as an Analyst in a Finance / Accounting or related role including:
Investment banking
Strategic consulting
Accounting
Demonstrated writing and presentation abilities
Demonstrated fluency in networking with professionals
Exceptional understanding and awareness of financial markets with specific sector expertise in Retail, Food & Beverage, and Leisure & Lodging
A degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics from a top tier university with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or greater or equivalent work experience
