Research Laboratory Technician

Indiana University seeks a qualified individual to work on the cutting edge of research at our Bloomington, Indiana campus. Assists in the conduct of experiments, manages a core equipment laboratory, and trains users in the Neuroscience Core Equipment Laboratory. Designs, oversees, analyzes and follows-up biological experiments/procedures, prepares compounds or chemicals, collects, analyzes and updates files and databases, consults with research staff, performs scholarly research, trains students, maintains and oversees lab, and other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Master’s degree in biology, chemistry, or relevant scientific field required. Proficiency with techniques such as protein measurement, fluorescence microscopy, HPLC, calcium imaging, PCR, western blotting, cloning and cell based biochemical assays would be major assets. Must have good social skills for interacting with laboratory groups. Familiarity with IU policies and procedures helpful.
