Research Associate

Purpose: Our Client in Rockville, MD is looking for a Research Associate for their Technical Support Department.

Responsibilities:

Perform a live cell screening analysis of our ~85K chemical compound library looking for new compounds of interest to a target receptor.

Must be able to culture and maintain the test cells on the scale of 0.5 to 1 liter per day, for use 5 days a week.

Not industrial scale but more than research scale. The cell maintenance will also involve weekend/holiday work.

The cells will have to be harvested, washed, counted and adjusted to the desired concentration.

Performing some steps of the assay depending on their abilities.

Need someone with some media preparation, tissue culture and live cell immunoassay background.

Equipment

a.) Media prep - sterile technique - typical lab plastic ware, graduated lab ware, filters

b.) Cell culture - sterile technique - plastics, microscope, we are getting a cell counter that they will be trained to use

c.) Harvesting - sterile technique - centrifuge, microscope

d.) Assay - cell dispensing equipment, multiwell plate washing equipment, 96 well plate readers.Classification:ContractCompensation:
