Research Associate

Major chemical company in Wilmington, DE needs a Research Associate to work a long term contract assignment. Responsibilities include:

Setting up research experiments
Plant DNA extraction, Southern blot and PCR analysis
Collection and analysis of experimental data
Reporting results into the system in a timely fashion
Maintenance of stocks and records
Communication effectively with other researchers
General laboratory maintenance
REQUIREMENTS
Must have BS degree
Have basic knowledge in chemistry, biochemistry and/or molecular biology
Have at least two years experience in DNA extraction, PCR and Southern analysis
Ability to work effectively and independently on multiple projects simultaneously and meet the deadlines
Ability to learn new protocols and systems quickly
Good record-keeping skills
Familiarity with or ability to learn computer-based data entry and analysis
Ability to maintain a safe and orderly work environment
