Reports to: Engineer ConsultantJob Summary:
Research Associates are responsible for the research, analysis, development, design, execution and interpretation of experiments/procedures that contribute to project strategies. They prepare technical reports, summaries, protocols and quantitative analyses.Responsibilities to Include:
Will perform basic and applied research by application of scientific and engineering principles with the aid of a variety of software tools and laboratory apparatus.
Investigates, creates and develops new methods and technologies for project advancement.
Maintains a high level of professional expertise through familiarity with current scientific or other literature.
May participate in research-related conferences and may make contributions to scientific journals.
May be responsible for identifying patentable inventions.
Uses professional concepts in accordance with company objectives to solve a variety of problems in creative and effective ways.
May provide limited guidance to lower level employees.
Duties will include some combination of analysis, mathematical modeling, laboratory testing, test equipment design, technical writing, literature research, programming, project management, oral presentation, customer and supplier interface.A Textron Company
REQUIREMENTS
Prefer MS or PHD graduates in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or physics with broad ranging technical skills and interests.Position Requirements:
Highly qualified BS graduates may be considered.
Experience or training with any of the following computer tools is expected MS Excel, MS Word and MS powerpoint.
Experience with any of the following is advantageous: MathCad, Matlab, Simulink, Pspice, FEA Software, CAD Software, C++, Fortran or Visual Basic.
Any significant experience in the following will be considered favorably: electromagnetics, testing, electronics, feedback control, and software.
Good communication skills are particularly desirable.
Ph.D. with little or no experience.
Masters Degree with 1+ years of experience.
Bachelors Degree with 3+ years experience.License and Certification Requirements:
