Job Description:
Laboratory research technician position available at Harvard Medical/Brigham and Women's Hospital immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Raju Kucherlapati. Work is centered on the use of knockout technologies in mice to identify genes involved in colorectal cancer. The technician positions involve general laboratory tasks, isolation of DNA, genotyping by PCR, Southern hybridization, maintenance of mouse colonies, and microsatellite analysis.
REQUIREMENTS
Required Skills: Proficiency in molecular biology is required. Candidates should have at least a Bachelor of Science degree in biology or related science field and several years of laboratory experience, or Masters of Science degree. The position will require good attention to detail, good communication skills, an ability to function independently and as part of team, and dedication to doing the best job possible. A minimum of a two-year commitment is preferred. Prior work with mice is not necessary but would be welcomed.
