Principal Research Scientist

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
The Discovery Pharmacokinetics group has an opening for a Principal Research Scientist to provide support to Wyeth drug discovery research. The successful candidate will:

advocate and develop Pharmacokinetic/Pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) strategies for selection of novel therapeutics in Drug Discovery,

integrate PK/PD, molecular biology, toxicokinetics and pharmacology to determine optimal dosing strategies,

investigate the disposition and absorption kinetics of small molecules in animal efficacy and safety models,

design, conduct, analyze and report preclinical PK/PD studies,

participate and represent for Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) functions in multidisciplinary discovery research teams,

Collaborate with pharmaceutical and formulation scientists to identify optimal product formulation and configuration.Requirements:
This challenging and exciting position requires someone with a Ph.D. degree in pharmacokinetics, pharmacology, pharmaceutical sciences or a related field. PhD with 0-5 years of experience, industry experience is preferred. Experience in using computer software for PK/PD modeling is highly preferred.
