Market Research Manager

Founded in 1980, we are a non-profit trade association that educates, advocates and empowers for multi-ethnic diversity in the communications industry through 19 nationwide chapters. Our members are of every race and multiple cultures - and they come from customer contact offices, executive suites and every position in-between. Our signature programs are designed to provide our members with the necessary skills to take the next step in their careers and to provide our industry with the resources to optimize the business opportunities associated with workforce and consumer diversity.

Due to tremendous growth, we are currently are seeking a Market Research Manager to oversee the development and production of market research data/analysis to drive association programs and advance our mission among industry leaders. In addition, the Market Research Manager will be responsible for the following:

Identify, research and report on multi-ethnic diversity issues within the communications industry.

Oversee the documentation and production of reports based upon statistical analysis of data collected.

Give presentations to staff, Board of Directors and industry executives concerning the findings of these reports.

Initiate and develop research systems for the production and dissemination of the association's Multi-ethnic Employment Survey.

Conduct primary and/or secondary research in response to requests for information and research specific market trends.

Drive new product and/or program development through business case development.

Create and manage virtual resource center on association website.

Measure and monitor effectiveness of association programs and make recommendations for enhancement as appropriate.

Work with Fund Development Director to identify and secure funding for association's research projects.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in statistics, mathematics, information sciences or business administration. An MBA is a plus. The candidate must also have 5-9 years business experience with an emphasis on marketing research. Additional qualifications include:

Project planning and management skills.

Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.

Ability to supervise others and manage vendor relationships.

Organizational skills, including ability to prioritize work and multi-task.

Ability to analyze and interpret statistical data and create actionable information from a mass of data.

Negotiation and presentation skills.

Computer literacy with various software packages, including Excel, Power Point, Word and other statistical and database packages.

Proficiency in the use of syndicated marketing research databases (e.g. Nielsen).

Experience with ethnic (specifically Asian, Hispanic/Latino and African American) targeted marketing and marketing research is a plus.
