Laboratory Assistant-Clinical Laboratory*

In 1991, two of San Francisco's oldest and most respected medical institutions, Pacific Presbyterian Hospital and Children's Hospital of San Francisco, merged to form California Pacific Medical Center. The Laboratory Staff Assistant provides clerical support within the Clinical Laboratory with emphasis on telephone answering (routes callers, takes messages, and provides additional information such as hours of operation) and visitor reception. Assures daily Clinical Laboratory results are printed and distributed to the appropriate areas. Responsible for the generation of and distribution of Clinical Laboratory daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent equivalent. 1-2 years previous clerical experience in a high volume Clinical Laboratory environment. Knowledge of medical terminology/clinical laboratory terminology, specimen requirements and specimen techniques required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software, particularly Word and Excel.
