Lab Assistant - Phlebotomist

Department: LaboratoryShift: Schedule Varies PoolJob Details:Description: This position is responsible for managing the pre and post aspects of analytical testing. This includes accurate data entry, obtaining appropriate blood samples, accurate patient identification and sample labeling. This position is responsible for responding as a member of a code team, chart report generation, distribution and quality customer service and communication. This position will also perform specified analytical testing as assigned, for example, Bleeding Times. All employees are responsible for supporting the Hospital’s goals and mission and for following all hospital policies and procedures. Quality customer service is an essential part of every position.
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements:Requires completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program or a minimum of one-year skills and knowledge to collect and process commonly ordered laboratory tests. Minimum age requirement is 18 years of age. CPR certification or ability to obtain certification is required. High school graduate or equivalent is required. Good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills are required. Demonstrates behaviors that are consistent with Maryvale Hospital Core Behaviors.
