Health Policy & Research Assistant

Consumers Union, the nonprofit publisher of Consumer Reports® and ConsumerReports.org®, has an exciting opportunity for one year as a Health Policy and Research Assistant its Washington Office.



"¢Provides research assistance in gathering information on various categories of prescription drugs

"¢Manages the inventory (including printing and distribution requests) of numerous print materails

"¢Works with a large database of drug price information

"¢Assists with project outreach efforts in several states

"¢Tracks the projects expenditures and invoices

"¢Organizes project materials and tasks

"¢Develops and organizes email lists

"¢Performs other administrative and research duties of the department
REQUIREMENTS
Candidate should have strong organizational and research skills; prior experience working with grant administration or research projects a plus (e.g. university research project, college intern in research area); strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Project) required, ability to work with a database a plus; self-directed, able to take initiative, problem solve, and exercise independent judgment; disciplined follow-up skills; strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact well with staff and business contacts from outside the organization; ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet demanding deadlines.



This position is grant-funded for a one-year period (with the possibility of an extension).
