Pilgrim's Pride is seeking a Food Technologist for our Elberton location in Elberton, GA. This position will be responsible for planning and conducting multiple product development project assignments.



Will be responsible for:



1. Develop and improve products and processes.

2. Determine project parameters to ensure anticipated product shelf life and maintain product quality. Pursue a number of simultaneous research projects.

3. Formulate new products, developing processes and cost/quality improvements while serving as backup to Project Manager.

4. Principal department resource for identifying and implementing new technologies.

5. Ensure awareness of technical trends and their potential application to build profitability.

6. Perform related tasks as requested

7. Handle multiple assignments.

8. Demonstrate technical competence.

9. Maintain accurate and complete records.

10. Demonstrate initiative in seeking information and applications from outside sources.

11. Conduct and structure project presentations to management.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Minimum 4 years experience in product development as a food technologist or equivalent position.

2. Demonstrate proficiency in product development.

3. Demonstrate proficiency in working knowledge of plant equipment, plant processes, and facilities.

4. Independently design and execute experiments.



EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:



Bachelor"&tm;s Degree in Food Science
