Data Analyst Trainer

Position Summary:

As a member of the Enterprise Data Management team, position’s primary role is to develop and deliver training about Polk’s rich data assets to internal Polk employees. This includes providing training to any employee in the company, regardless of position or function. Additional duties include performing data analysis, data modelling, and SQL programming, interaction with product managers, database administrators, developers and data factory staff.

Primary Responsibilities:

•Researches, develops, designs, and implements effective training programs and materials, including data dictionaries and newsletters about Polk’s data assets.
•Conducts training programs to internal Polk employees, including executives, sales staff, product managers, data factory staff, and developers.
•Writes, designs, edits, and maintains documentation and training materials.
•Member of the Enterprise Data Management Team, which means additional responsibilities include performing data analysis, data modelling, and SQL programming, interaction with product managers, database administrators, developers and data factory staff.
•Understands and communicates Polk’s information products and the data required to create the products.

Secondary Responsibilities:

•Performs other duties as requested by management.

Relationships/Contacts:

•Works closely with data analysts, data architects, sales management, product managers, database administrators, developers and data factory staff. These relationships will be needed in order to understand Polk information products and to determine company data training needs.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications:

•Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of experience working in a complex data environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Requires the ability to clearly explain complex and technical subjects to non-technical staff in an effective manner.
•Experience training and/or teaching about data is desired.
•Experience with data analysis, logical data modelling, and data warehousing is a must.
•Must have excellent writing and clear communication skills.
•Must be presentable, friendly, outgoing, and be able to establish rapport with new audiences with varied experience and knowledge.
•Must have knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
•Must have business analytical skills, including the ability to write business and functional requirements.
