Data Analyst II

Data Analyst II Primary Responsibilities Include: Gathering, researching, interpreting and analyzing Data and Business operations and processes to evaluate data credibility and efficacy in the development of company-wide Data-Management systems.

Analyzing data requirements.

Developing Logical-Data Models and processes.

Data Profiling.

Documenting metadata requirements.

Performing data acquisition and access analysis.

Coordinating new data development.

Ensuring consistency with existing databases and warehouses.

Reviewing business requests for data and data usage.

Researching data sources.

Defining data-integration requirements.

Completing projects in accordance with established Data-Content standards.

Assisting in defining standards and "best practices".

Significantly influencing final decisions that have a direct and relevant impact on departmental, business-unit and/or company-wide Data-Management systems.

Providing analysis, recommendations, consultation and advice.

Working (as a Project Leader or Subject-Matter Expert) on multiple Data-Management Projects.

Conducting complex Logical-Data Modeling, Data Acquisition and Access Analysis.

Devising new Logical-Data Models, processes and procedures.

Defining "best practices" in Data Analysis.

Evaluating complex business-operations and -processes to identify data requirements and sources.

Reviewing and responding to new requests for data.

Reviewing, documenting and maintaining metadata.

Developing Data-Content standards to be used within assigned department and/or business-unit.
A Successful Candidate Will Have:

Bachelor's (or equivalent) degree in Computer Science or Information Technology (and/or equivalent experience).

3-5 year(s) of Data-Management experience.

Extensive knowledge of Data-Management concepts, practices and procedures.

Advanced proficiency and experience with Data Design and Architecture.

Extensive knowledge of Logical and Physical Modeling and Development techniques using CASE tools.

Extensive knowledge of DBMS in multi-tiered, Client/Server environments.

Extensive knowledge of data integration, data quality, multi-dimensional design and ETL tools, processes and methodology.

Advanced knowledge of Project-Management and SDLC processes and methodology.

Excellent analytical and verbal/written communication skills.
