Chemist II

Perform duties to inspect and analyze samples submitted for testing including finished products, raw materials, in-process, stability and validation samples, to ensure compliance with specifications, company procedures and policies and regulatory requirements. Perform physical and analytical tests. Follow all SOP and cGMP and lab safety procedures. Perform other related tasks as assigned by the area supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS
Analyze and document the testing of samples of raw materials, in-process products, finished products, and water to support the manufacturing department. Analyze and document the testing of stability samples to establish and confirm expiration dates. Analyze and document the testing of samples to develop and validate analytical methods. Analyze and document the testing of samples submitted by R&D, marketing, sales, customer complaints, process validation and other departments. Perform testing to validate laboratory instruments.Maintain and calibrate label equipment and make minor repairs as necessary. Prepare and maintain reagents and standards. Review and adjust manufacturing formulas. Maintain Vendor Certification Program. Keep glassware and laboratory equipment clean and organized. Review notebooks and other documentation and assist in the releasing of products.
Prepare testing protocols and reports. Write, review and revise SOP as required, and assist in the training of other chemists and technicians. Develop or modify analytical methods.Bachelors or Associates Degree in Chemistry or a related science.Three to Five years of experience in an analytical laboratory setting.Good communication skills (written and verbal), good math and organizational skills.
