Reports to: Manager, Air SafetyJob Summary:The Air Safety Investigator investigates aircraft accidents that involve Lycoming products and prepares comprehensive technical reports including meteorological and environmental conditions for Engineering and Legal Departments. He/she will deal confidentially with sensitive field investigation situations. Works in bio-hazard environments. Stays current on FAA regulations and NTSB/FAA rules for accident investigation. Ensures proper follow-up to accident investigation. Performs in-house accident engine disassemblies and test runs. Provides factory support to all fireld Air Safety Investigators. Assists with foreign government questions and requests on accident investigation and failed parts.A Textron Company
REQUIREMENTSTechnical degree in related field preferred.Position Requirements: 5-10 years experience with aircraft piston engine operation, maintenance, trouble shooting and overhaul.
FAA, A&P and I.A. Rating
Digital photography experience helpful
Computer knowledge
Must be physically capable of navigating rugged high elevations.License and Certification Requirements:A&P Mechanic Certification

Pilot's License Desirable
