Land Aquisition Manager

LAND ACQUISITION MANAGER – RETAIL DEVELOPMENT

The Lewis Group of Companies, one of the nation’s largest privately-held real estate developers, is actively seeking an experienced Land Acquisition Manager for the acquisition of high-level new land for retail shopping center development in California.

This position would be based in the S. California (Upland, CA) corporate office of the Lewis Group of Companies.

The right candidate will know the “mindset of the buyer” in California, providing strong experience in Land to Lewis’ ever-growing team of retail development professionals. The Land Acquisition Manager will work independently to negotiate land acquisitions, perform sophisticated land use and financial analyses, execute purchase agreements, and oversee due diligence, including concept land planning, environmental, utility system, and title analyses for retail development. The position would perform independent due diligence research, to include land identification, negotiation, proformas, property comparables, land values, etc. for acquisitions and sales with the ability to manage multiple accounts. Responsibilities would also include:

Tracking and managing financial transactions including deal structures, deposits and/or releases and participate in debt and equity relationships.
Establish and maintain relationships with other developers, land brokers, land owners, political and governmental officials and title companies.
Develop a professional presentation package for potential purchases for use in land committee meetings.

The successful candidate will have a solid background in land planning, zoning, law, and/or real estate, preferably in the retail development industry. Candidates should have previous experience working with brokers, property owners and other sources to identify new acquisition opportunities within Southern California.
