Transportation Strategic Analyst

RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is responsible for analyzing transportation methods and procedures to develop and utilize the most economically advantageous and efficient means of delivery products, based on the evaluation of freight classifications, tariff rates, and operating capabilities, and concurrent with delivery schedules and deadlines.

Provides "what-if" strategic analysis, network studies, reviewing co-mingling freight opportunities, cross-dock; reverse flow of totes, fish boxes, pallets (break-even analysis). Makes inbound/outbound dedicated versus line haul transportation decisions based on cost analysis. Identifies emerging logistics technology, optimization, and modeling tools, etc. Performs ad-hoc costs requests (i.e. new store assignments). Continues to strive for ways to improve service and reduce costs.


Experience with MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain and minimum one-year work related to internship or co-op
Experience with modeling and/or optimization related tools
