Test Security Specialist

Basic Functions and Responsibilities: **Non-Exempt**To investigate test irregularities; to serve as principal resource person to candidates and/or their representatives; and to plan, organize, and direct activities leading to the resolution of irregularities and the release of withheld scores prior to deadlines established by institutions and legislation.Identify and conduct investigations into test irregularities and test book losses through analyses of handwriting, comparisons of candidate answer sheets for statistical evidence of communication among candidates, interpretation of selected computer studies, on-site interviews with test center supervisors, solicitation of relevant information from institutions, and review of test center procedures.Act as liaison between ETS and test candidates and/or their representatives on matters related to irregularities, providing advice on how to resolve the matter, communicating relevant information concerning corporate policy and procedure on matters of irregularities, and assessing additional relevant information.Communicate on a daily basis (via correspondence, telephone, and meetings) with candidates, parents, attorneys, institution officials, and test center supervisors, adhering to ETS policies and principles governing confidentiality of information and exercising judgment in communicating information which carries legal implications and which is sensitive in nature.Document investigative actions, prepare documentary files by determining information relevant to each case, and recommend course of action to ETS Board of Review and Program Direction based on evaluation of evidence.Confer with ETS General Counsel, Program Directors/Business Managers, and Board of Review members to interpret additional information as it develops and to provide advice and opinion on how to proceed in resolving test irregularities.Arrange and administer retests to candidates.Attend and testify at arbitration sessions, hearings, and court proceedings, presenting a summary of the investigative process and the evidence uncovered through that process.Conduct routine inspections of external printing plant operations and assist in the investigations of printing plant security to identify and correct security problems.Conduct special projects such as researching and evaluating methods for improving test security procedures, assisting in the development of sections of proposals dealing with test security, review ing and recommending changes to portions of booklets and manuals dealing with test security, and providing direction to other staff members on selected management responsibilities.Assist in the conduct of special statistical studies and analyses to determine security profiles of test centers and geographical areas.Maintain current knowledge of federal and state legislation on testing and public access, ETS policies, and program procedures as they apply to the resolution of test irregularities by attending seminars, viewing relevant films, reading pertinent literature, and through other staff development activities.Serve as the test security representative during weekend testing and work other irregular hours as required.Travel as required to conduct on-site inspections and investigations.Apply Info: Internal:Please send cover letter and resume to Renee Brown at MailStop 46-D or e-mail to [Click here for email]. REQUIREMENTS
Education: A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education experience form which comparable knowledge and abilities and be acquired is necessary.Experience: Two years of experience in a candidate/public relations capacity is necessary.
Experience in a legal setting is desirable.
