Quality Inspectors

Duties and Responsibilities:
This person will be responsible for performing a wide range of complex inspection procedures to ensure quality levels of precision parts. Under general supervision, this person performs the receiving inspection (for parts made from suppliers) and the first article inspection (for parts made for the first time at machine shop or suppliers) for conformance to quality assurance standards. This person will be expected to work from engineering blueprints and drawings, determine acceptance, rejection, and/or rework requirements of unit. This person will operate calipers, micrometers, height gauge, thread gauges, scales, radius gauge, comparator and other instruments including automated inspection equipment, (i.e. Zeiss CMM, OGP Smartscope and Voyager vision system). This person will be responsible for generating DR (Discrepancy Report) for rejected items, inspecting and processing MRB material (parts that were rejected by the manufacturing), and resolving quality issues with suppliers. This person may also be required to provide training and leadership to junior staff and function as a backup to the Lead. This person will also assist in calibration of gauges and equipment, create inspection procedures and processes to ensure high quality output, assist in internal/external audits of Quality Management System, investigate and respond to customer complaints, and analyze processes for continual improvement.
REQUIREMENTS
Key Requirements:
One-year certificate from college or technical school; or minimum 5 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Skills required for this position include: good abstract and mechanical reasoning, good mathematical skills, working knowledge of inspection procedures and related instruments. This person must be meticulous about inspection processes. Ability to prioritize and organize tasks is critical. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently are essential to this position. This person must be familiar with QA inspection tools and equipment, and also be able to read blueprints.
